Shocks, Struts, and Exhaust

After a full winter of potholes, salt, and rough road conditions in Western New York, your car has a lot to say. Sometimes it says it quietly. Sometimes it's a little more obvious.

Two of the most common spring repair needs we see at Summit Truck & Auto are worn shocks and struts, and exhaust issues. Both are worth paying attention to, and both tend to get worse the longer they go without being addressed.

Shocks and Struts

Shocks and struts are what keep your ride smooth and your vehicle stable. When they start to wear out, you'll notice it. The car might feel bouncier over bumps. It might not handle corners as crisply as it used to. You might hear a clunking sound when you go over a rough patch.

Our roads around Akron, Newstead, and the surrounding area are not always kind to suspension systems. If your car feels like it's been through a lot lately, that might be because it has.

We'll put your vehicle up and inspect the shocks and struts, and give you an honest assessment. If they need replacing, we'll tell you. If they've got more life in them, we'll tell you that too.

Exhaust Repair

Salt and winter moisture are hard on exhaust systems. Rust and corrosion can develop over time, and by spring you might notice your car or truck is running louder than it should be, or you're picking up a smell that wasn't there before.
