We see it every single year here at Summit Truck & Auto. Folks come in sometime in late May or June, and it's already 85 degrees, and they've been driving around with the windows down for two weeks. It doesn't have to be that way.

Getting your AC checked in the spring is one of those small things that makes a big difference come July.

How Do You Know If Your AC Needs Service?

There are a few signs that your car's air conditioning might need some attention before summer hits:

  • The air coming out isn't as cold as it used to be

  • You hear an unusual noise when you turn the AC on

  • The system works sometimes but cuts in and out

  • There's a musty or strange smell when you run it

Any of these is worth having looked at. Sometimes it's a simple refrigerant recharge. Other times it's a compressor issue or a leak in the system. Either way, catching it now is a whole lot easier than dealing with it in the middle of August.
